Biography

Datuk Sankara Narayanan Nair is the Managing Partner of the firm and a seasoned litigator and adviser whose practice spans corporate and commercial law, insurance fraud, dispute resolution and torts - with particular expertise in defamation and high-value corporate matters. He graduated with an LLB (Hons) from Cardiff Law School, University of Wales in 1991 and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1996. Datuk Nair is regularly retained in sensitive, high-profile matters and has represented prominent public figures and senior political leaders in complex civil and commercial cases since the late 1990s.

Before turning to private practice, Datuk Nair built a unique foundation of investigative and commercial experience. He served as an Assistant Superintendent of Police in the Royal Malaysia Police Force (1982-1988), where he worked in the Special Branch and Criminal Investigations Department and led inquiries into major commercial-crime cases during the mid-1980s. Earlier roles at the Johor Port Authority (1974-1982) - including senior traffic and port operations positions - and a stint as a licensed stockbroker (1991-1994) gave him practical insight into logistics, finance and regulatory environments. He has also held significant public and industry leadership positions, including chairing the Malaysian Rubber Board and its properties corporation and serving on the Kuala Lumpur City Council. A committed professional, Datuk Nair is a life member of RESPA (Malaysia), the Australian & New Zealand Maritime Law Association, the Malaysian Medico Legal Society and a corporate member of the Chartered Institute of Transport & Logistics (MCILT), London. His combined legal acumen and investigative rigour make him a strategic advocate for clients facing complex, high-stakes disputes.
