Q&A
What is Phoenix Investment Bank?
Phoenix Investment Bank (Labuan) Ltd. is a proposed Labuan investment banking platform promoted by the Fintrade Group. Phoenix has received in-principle approval from the Labuan Financial Services Authority for a Labuan investment banking licence and is completing the outstanding conditions required for full licence issuance.
What will Phoenix focus on at launch?
Subject to final licence issuance, applicable approvals, client eligibility and operational readiness, Phoenix's proposed initial focus is expected to include trade finance origination and structuring, RMA and correspondent banking development, SWIFT-integrated operations, relay services, documentary collections and controlled secured issuance. The initial scope is deliberately focused so that Phoenix can build from its core competency within approved parameters.
Who is behind Phoenix?
Phoenix is promoted by the Fintrade Group, which includes Fintrade Tech Solutions Limited, a New Zealand-based financial advisory platform, and Fintrade Securities Corporation Ltd., a Labuan securities licensee engaged in investment advisory, financial consulting and intermediation. Together they provide Phoenix with a practical foundation in trade finance, banking relationships and financial services.
What makes Phoenix different?
Phoenix is being built around planned execution capability, not just a product menu. Its intended model is grounded in correspondent banking relationships, RMA development, disciplined documentation and trade finance expertise. Upon final licence issuance, Phoenix is intended to operate as a regulated, relationship-led platform within the scope of its authorisations.
Who are Phoenix's target clients?
After final licence issuance and subject to applicable approvals and eligibility requirements, Phoenix intends to serve eligible corporate and institutional clients, including importers, exporters, financial institutions, institutional counterparties, professional investors and businesses requiring structured financial solutions across selected international trade corridors.
Will Phoenix offer services beyond trade finance?
Over time, and subject to final licensing status, regulatory approval, operational readiness and board-approved controls, Phoenix intends to expand into complementary areas including financial advisory, custody, asset and wealth management, secured financing, payments, card and merchant acquisition and selected institutional markets capability.
Is Phoenix fully launched yet?
